Wholesale electricity prices
Day-ahead wholesale electricity prices at the trading hubs of Texas (ERCOT) and California (the California ISO), as each grid operator publishes them: the average of each day's hourly prices, in US dollars per megawatt-hour (MWh). Power is one of the main costs of running a data center.
Updated October 30, 2026 at 2:27 PM CT. The latest day is the next delivery day once its prices are published, the afternoon before.

How the prices are made
Each grid operator runs a day-ahead market that sets a price for every hour of the next day at each point of its grid. A hub price is the average over a group of those points, the reference that power is traded against. The daily average here is the mean of the day's hourly prices (23 or 25 hours on the days the clocks change), and 6 am–10 pm is the mean of the hours ending 7 to 22. Each hub's day is its market's day: Central time in Texas, Pacific time in California. The 7-day, 30-day and 1-year figures average the daily averages of the latest day and the days before it.
Texas: ERCOT's North, Houston, South and West hubs, every day from 2017. California: the California ISO's SP15, NP15 and ZP26 trading hubs, from August 2023, as far back as its public system keeps them. Other US markets do not allow their prices to be republished without permission, so they are not here.
