About Google
The Google token price index is $2.06 per 1M tokens today, up 6.5% since yesterday, up 18.4% over the past week and up 87.9% over the past month. Over the past year it has ranged from $0.99 to $2.34. It is the usage-weighted average of the posted prices of Google's 4 models, blending 3 input tokens with 1 output token; Gemini 3.8 Flash has the largest share of usage, at 38.3%. It is calculated once a day, for each UTC day, shortly after the day ends.
Google's Gemini models are built by Google DeepMind and sold through the Gemini API, or Google AI Studio, and through Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, formerly Vertex AI. Alphabet said in July 2026 that its model APIs were processing about 22 billion tokens a minute, up from 16 billion a quarter earlier, and that it remained supply constrained. Google prices with dated schedules: two of its main models have announced price increases, which this page tracks.

USD per 1M tokens, standard tier, on October 24, 2026, from Google's Gemini API pricing page, last updated October 22, 2026. Batch and Flex processing cost half and Priority 75% to 100% more; thinking tokens are billed as output; on Agent Platform, prompts over 200K tokens use long-context rates and non-global endpoints cost 10% more.
What this index measures
Each day's value averages the standard prices of the Gemini models people use, weighted by each model's tokens in OpenRouter's daily rankings and blended at 3 input tokens to 1 output token. Google's open-weight Gemma models are left out. Free-tier and invite-only discounted use is not reflected.
What moves Google's index
- Scheduled price increases. Gemini 4 Argon doubles on December 1, 2026 and Gemini 3.6 to 3.8 Flash double on January 1, 2027. If usage does not shift, the index steps up once the new prices are listed; because each day's value uses the price listed shortly after that day ends in UTC, the step may first appear in the value for November 30 or December 31.
- Rising Flash prices. The Flash tier went from $0.30/$2.50 for 2.5 Flash in June 2025 to $0.50/$3 for 3 Flash in December 2025 and $1.50/$9 for 3.5 Flash in May 2026. 3.6 Flash cut output to $7.50 in July 2026, and 3.6 to 3.8 Flash sell at an introductory $0.75/$3.75 until December 31, 2026.
- Automatic upgrades. Some retirements move traffic without customer action: since October 8, 2026, requests to 3.5 Flash and 3.7 Flash go to 3.6 Flash and 3.8 Flash, at the newer models' prices.
- Mix between Flash and Argon. Argon's blended price of $4.00 is about 2.7 times Gemini 3.8 Flash's $1.50, so usage moving between them moves the index.

FAQ
How much does the Gemini API cost per million tokens? Among the models in the table, from $0.25 input and $1.50 output for Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite to $2 and $10 for Gemini 4 Argon today; Gemini 3.1 Pro Preview costs $2 and $12. Increases are already announced for Argon and Flash.
What happens to Google's index on December 1? Argon's announced price doubles that day. Unless usage moves to cheaper models at the same time, the index rises by Argon's token share times the $4 rise in its blended price, starting with the first daily value calculated after OpenRouter lists the new price, possibly the value for November 30.
How often is it updated? Once a day: each UTC day's value is calculated shortly after that day ends, from the day's OpenRouter volumes and the prices posted then. The site checks for new data every 2 to 3 hours.
